Apply for tourist visa by myself, or each applicant in person?

My family wants to visit China this summer, and apply for L type (30 days). Can I apply for the L type (for family - my husband and my daughter) by myself, or all of us need to apply in person in the Chinese Embassy in BKK?

Please advise on working hours and possibility to apply for chinese tourist L type in Phuket.
