About:Guangzhou Travel Guide

What is your best option for transportation from Hong Kong Airport to Guangzhou?

We are a family of 4 from Indonesia will visit Hong Kong, GZ & Macau on this coming July. We will arrive in the evening around 8pm in Hong Kong. We planning to go to GZ from the airport that evening. So please tell us what is the option to travel that night.
Since Ferry takes shorter time, is the Ferry still available in the evening?
Or is it better we spend a few days in Hong Kong and then GZ & Macau and travel during day time.

It's convenient for you to go to GZ by ferry from Hong Kong Airport. But there is no ferry when you arrive at. The schedule is at 11:15 only on Thursday and Saturday.

So you can take long-distance bus at the airport. You can choose the schedules of 20:30, 21:00, 22:00 or 23:00. It takes around 4.5 hours on the way. And the ticket fare is CNY 195 per adult.

Recommended itinerary: HK - GZ-Macau-HK; or HK-GZ-Macau-HK. Both are OK. It depends on you.

I have no idea where Luisa gets the bus schedule and the relative info. But I just checked the official website of HKIA. Direct buses from HKIA to Guangzhou run from 07:00 to 22:15 every day. It costs 250HKD and takes around 4h. Anyway, you can still catch the direct cross-border bus. Relax~
