About:China Visa Application in USA

I need to obtain a China visa and I live in Ohio

But I will be travelling near Washington DC this week wanted to see if I can go to the China Embassy to get it done or do I need to get it through the NY Consulate. Any help to clarify Please.......

Keith, you have to apply for it through the New York Consulate. The consulate in Washington DC may not accept your application.
