About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

I have a multiple entry visa which runs out when I am on my next trip to China

But I need to visit HK and then go back to PRC. If I renew it in the UK before I leave will the new one start the day after the old one runs out or do they start it from the day I plan to arrive in before the old one runs out?

The new one takes into effect from the date of issuance, by then your old one will expire automatically.
