If you want to work in China with the student type entry permit, you can only take part time jobs with the consent of your school. Otherwise, it is illegal to do so. I think you should first get admitted by a Chinese school and then apply for the X type. It's hard to say whether your application will be denied or not. But you should try your best to go for it.
