I've been told regulations have been sharpened in the past year. In Luang Prabang it is not possible to get one. How many days would it take in vientiane?Febr.2015

Anna, what type are you applying for? If it's not long-term type, such as the entry permits for study, work, or family reunion, I think you can try to apply at the embassy in Vientiane. The normal process takes about four working days. Before you go to there to submit the application, you can dial 00856-21-315100 for confirmation.
