About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Technically in Shanghai for 74.5 Hours

Travel Auckland - Shanghai Arrive 5/5 at 7.30am
Leave Shanghai for Heathrow 8/5 at 11.40am
My understanding is that my 72 hours does not start until midnight on my arrival day (therefore only 59.40 hrs)
Please confirm whether I am correct here.

Hi Jon! As far sa I know, in many cities, the 72 hours start from the following midnight after travellers' arrivial, so you have a big chance to make use of the free transit policy. However, I still recommend you confirm this with your airline.
