About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Renewing residence permits.

My wife is teaching in China (Hired through a third party company) and has been offered a job teaching at a different school. It will be after our contract with the current school ends, so there is no problem there. The problem is that the new school does not seem to know how to get the renewal processed. How do we go about getting this set up, or can we not?

Sean, your wife should have employment certificate and temporary resident permit, right? Usually, these two documents' validity is set according to the length of the contract. If she plans to change a job after her contract ends, then please check if her employment certificate and temporary resident permit are still valid. If not, she needs to ask her new employer to help her acquire a new work permit so that she can apply for the new Z type and then apply for employment certificate and change her Z type to temporary resident permit.

They will expire right after the contract ends. We still have a couple months before that.
