Can a DK citizen apply for visa to China in Hong Kong?

I got confused whether it is possible or not to apply for it to China from Hong Kong - as a Danish citizen? In the text above it seems possible, but on the Commissioner's Officer (...)'s homepage it says that "Applicants without HK resident status are required to submit their applications through the Chinese Embassy or consulate office around your resident country." Do you have "HK resident status" if you stay at a Hotel in Hong Kong?

Hi Astrid. You are not granted with "HK resident status" if you just stay at a hotel there. It's possible that you can apply for the entry permit in HK but not assured you will certainly get it. You know, the application policies of the commisoner office are obscure. You can also hire an agency to help you with the application.

Thank you for the answer. Do you know if it's easier to get one from Macao? And is it in general easier to hire an agency?

Astrid, it's better to hire an agency to deal with your application.
