What's the best and fastest way to travel from Guilin to Hong Kong by train?

Hey!
Do we need to stop at Guangzhou first and then change trains to Hong Kong? Or is it better from GLto Shenzhen and then to Hong Kong? Any suggestions?

Best regards
Norman

It is easier to head for Shenzhen for a transfer. Take a bullet train from GL Station to Shenzhen North. After getting there, transfer to local subway Longhua Line to Futian Checkpoint. Going through the immigration, you can walk to Lok Ma Chau. Then transfer to local transportation to your destination. The train to Shenzhen takes around 3.5h by the way.

Aaah great, thanks a lot!

But your website shows only 4 trains heading to Shenzhen while there are a lot more trains to Guangzhou. if transferring in Shenzhen, I suggest you book the train ticket in advance. And you are right that much more high speed trains run between GL and Guangzhou and they will take you to Guangzhou South. After arriving, you can take subway line 2 to Gongyuanqian, where transfer to line 3 to local East Train Station. There you can take a train directly to HK within around 2 hours.
