Hi, my friend is Taiwanese. She will be travelling to Toronto from Taipei and layout at Shanghai for 20 hours. Does she need to apply any visa if she just stays at the airport? Thanks!

Fennie, he needs to apply for a Mainland travel permit for Taiwan residents before he flies to Shanghai. If possible, he needs to go to Macau or Hong Kong to apply from a powerful agency. If he can't go there, he may find an agent in Taiwan to help him.

Here is a hotline (852) 2853 3573. He may consult for further details about the permit.
