About:Marriage Registration in China

regarding the topic "court marriage in chna"

i wanted to ask that, ammm..... i am nepali, and i have a girlfriend in china. i am planning to visit her and do court marriage there in china. i want to know what is the procedure and which documents do i require to provide in order to do a court marriage in china?

Nevin, I don't know that there is court marriage in China. If you plan to get married in China legally, you need to bring all required documents and register your marriage at the civil affairs bureau in your girlfriend's city.

here is what i got after the research, calling and contacting municipality and the embassy. first of all, i need a single status certificate which i can get it from my municipality, and this does take time if u dont have a contact with the staff of municipality and ward office (u know what i mean), then this certificate needs an authentication from the notary public office. after that i need to make a police non criminal report mentioning that i am free of any criminal charges. then i need to present this final draft of single status certificate and police report to the chinese embasy in nepal and then they need to approve it. well after this long procedure, i can use it in china to legally conduct the court marriage in my gf's city. wew.... what a hectic procedure
