Canadian asking for a chinese visa in Japan

Hi,
I am actually already in China on my last permitted by my visa. I need to take a trip in the next 2 week to Japan, and was wondering what I can do to ensure I can return to China without any problems.

If there is a way to ask for another one before leaving China, it would be even better!
Please let me know.
