After dropping off our family's U.S. passports and applications at the Los Angeles China Consulate on Monday 1/26, we picked-up our passports today Thursday 1/29 with our new 10-year China L type affixed. The cost for a 10-year China visa is the same for U.S. citizens as a 1-year one of $140 each for regular (non-express) service (4-day turn-around). Again we asked one of the consulate employee whether there will be a fee increase next month in February and again the response is she didn't hear of any fee increase. Also remember in order to get it, a couple of the requirements are at least one year remaining on the U.S. passport and copies of the purchased plane tickets to China or if no plane tickets, an invitation letter from somebody or company from China. Seems like what some people heard of a fee increase in February is false rumor spread on social media.
