About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do we need a Visa to catch a flight from Shanghai?

I'm American and my wife is Filipino, our cruise is leaving Singapore to Shanghai and our flight back is the same day of arrival, do we need it to catch a flight from Shanghai?
