Renewing current passport with valid Chinese work visa

I am hoping to renew my current Canadian passport during an upcoming trip back home. My current passport has a valid China Z type entry permit in it. Would I be able to enter China using a new Canadian passport and the old passport (with a corner cutout but still containing the unchanged Z type)?

LCY, generally speaking, it's ok for you to enter mainland China with your two passports.
