About:Hong Kong Visa Policy

Hong kong visa for a Srilankan National

One of my staff from our school which is in China need to attend a workshop held by IBO and he is from Srilanka and has been working in China for the last 7 years. When we tried for an entry permit from China to go to this workshop, it says that we need to send a form which is supposed to be submitted by the sponsor of workshop which is IBO. The IBO provided us with support letter. But how is it possible to get the financial statement of an international organisation like IBO as is asked in the sponsor form.
'My question is, how can this srilankan teacher obtain a visa to go to Hongkong just to attend this IBO workshop and return to China. Is there a way to get any type of entry permit to send this teacher for this workshop.

please reply ASAP

I think you should apply for the training type and the sponsoring company should be your school rather than IBO. However, the presence of the support letter from IBO can facillitate your application.

Thank you for the reply.Unfortunately, the Hong Kong Embassy is asking for a sponsor in Hong Kong. I am not sure, how this is going to work out. The Embassy even has a form to fill in the details of the sponsor located in Hong Kong.

I think you can ask the staff of IBO to explain the situation to the Hong Kong Immigration Department and try to figure out a solution.
