About:NCPA Performance Schedule

performing arts in beijing

hello we are looking at attending a traditional chinese performing arts performance, which to my understand there are two types, either the acrobats? or the one where the people wear their faces painted white with traditional chinese robes etc? Obviously I am quite uninformed about this area! Would love some direction… where would we find such tours and which is the more traditional of the two (for chinese cultures)? How would we find tickets/

Thank you kindly…and can't wait to experience your country!

Hey, from your description, I guess you may refer to Chinese Opera by the latter.

Both of them are very interesting, but the opera may better show traditional Chinese culture. So I would recommend you to watch the opera.

Just go to National Center for the Performing arts. It is located in no. 2, West Chang’an Street, Xicheng District. or you can watch it in Mei Lanfang Theatre, which is located in no. 32, West Street of Ping’an Inner, Xicheng District. OrBoth of them have official website in English version, you can just book tickets online or buy ticket on the spot.
