i live in china with a z visa, my passport only has 5 months left. can i travel in china?

I live China with a Z type - but now my passport only has 5 months left. Can I travel from Shanghai to Beijing by plane? Or by train? will anyone check?

As your passport is valid at present, I think it's OK for you to take planes within china. However, it's a little bit risky. I advise you apply for the issuance of another passport in the embassy of consulate of your country.
