About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

shanghai and hong kong entry permit for a cruise

my husband and I are travelling to shanghai and hong kong on a cruise ship in may 2015 and we will be Hong Kong for an overnight stay and shanghai for 1 day do we require a visa? we are both Australian citizens

Hi Jessica! If your next destination from Shngahai is not part of mainland China and your stay in Shanghai is less than 24 hours, you are not required to get the entry permit.
