Oh, according to the archeologists, it took around 10 years to build terracotta warriors. :-)

It can't of taken 40 years. He died when he was 36, and took to the throne when he was about 13. Apparently, they have uncovered 4 pits now, the 4th having no figurines in it. This is evidence towards the fact that it wasn't finished when they built it.
