Do I need to apply visa for Hongkong? Can I re enter China from Hongkong to continue the tour?

Dear Sir or Madam,Me and my wife will travel to China by train from HANOI ,Vietnam on April 2015,I like to travel to Hong Kong and Macao too, the question is,

If both of you hold valid Canadian passports, you needn't apply any type for HK or Macau.

If you are planning to enter mainland again after visiting Hong Kong, you need to apply for a double-entry type. Otherwise, you cannot reenter mainland but have to reapply for an L type.

You can apply it at the Vietnam embassy, but the embassy does not post the fees. You can ask them by calling 0084-4-38453736.
