visa information for visiting china

Question

I am a US citizen and I am looking at visiting China for a few day, 8 to 10 days total.  What documentation do I need for the visit and how long does it take for approval.

You need to apply for an L type by providing the following materials: a passport with the validity of at least six months and two blank pages, a photocopy of the passport's info page, an application form, a recent taken photo, and roundtrip tickets and hotel reservations.
