yunnan shangri-la, deqin, yubeng - travel advice for february please

Question

Planning to travel  Shangri-la -bus- Diqin -bus- Xidang then horse/hike to Yubeng next month in February. Is this a doable itinerary this time of year? Wondering how much snow and freezing temperatures we should be prepared for. We are not unaccustomed to cold weather but how severe is it likely to be?Hoping to round trip this from Shangri-La within 7 days possible?

Generally, your plan is doable. But it is extremely cold in these places with the average temp of -8C or much lower. Except warm clothes like down jackets, sweaters and boots, you should also prepare quality gloves, scarlves and masks. And it may snow during that time. In case of any trouble, I suggest you turn to a travel agency for help to arrange all for you.
