Is there a need for a tourism visa?

I would like to know whether or not is there a need for a portuguese citizen travelling from France to Japan (no need for visa there) via Beijing, in order to visit Beijing for less than a 72hour period, including the Great Wall of China?
Than you.
Best Regards,

Hey, as Portuguese, you enjoy a 72 hour visa free transit. So just apply for a transit permit when you arrive in the airport. Then you can have a free tour in the city.
