May 1st - Holiday a week in China

Me and my friend planning a trip to Shanghai end Apr and it is advisable to go there since 1st May is a public holiday ?
I heard a lot of ppl out there and CHina will having a week off ?

The May Day holiday is May 1st - 3rd. You'd better avoid traveling during these days if possible.
