Business Trip in Shanghai

To whom it may concern,
We would like to apply for a Visa to go in Shanghai the last week of January. We are 2 french people resident in Tokyo. (with Japan resident card but French passeport). The purpose of this travel is for business mainly. We have several meeting with different companies based in Shanghai.

We would like to stay 3 to 4 days on site. Could you let us know the type we need and the process to apply?

You should apply for an M type.

However, I heard that individuals from a third country cannot apply in Japan, so you'd better confirm it with the Chinese embassy there. If so, you should turn to a travel agency for the application.

If you can submit the application individually, first prepare the following documents: a completed application form (download from the website of the embassy), a valid passport and its photocopy, a color photo taken within six months, the original and photocopy of your Japan resident cards, trade activity documents issued by your partner in China or the invitation letter from a trade fair. Then go to the embassy in Tokyo and submit the application.
