How and What type of Invitation letter Required from China

Sir, I'd like to ask you about invitation letter from Chinese citizens. One of my Chinese friend want me to visit there so tell me what kind of letter is required from children friend? And for what type of Visa will I apply in embassy?
My main purpose is to visit just for a week then to be back.
