can i use preloaded travel union pay card at atm machine?

My friend said he couldnt withdraw money with his unionpay travel card at atm but could check his balance and had enough money in there. But he could use his card in stores and other places.

Myat, you should confirm whether there is Union Pay logo on the ATM before you withdraw money. If there is no Union Pay logo, it means that the ATM doesn't support Union Pay cards so that you can't withdraw money.

On the other hand, I think you should confirm with your bank whether your card can be used to pay abroad. Some cards are not allowed to be used abroad.

If your friend used his card at the stores or other places, I guess that these places must accept Union Pay card.

I am a Chinese guy. Last time I went to Phuket, the hotel I chose didn't accept my China Union Pay credit card. Luckily, my friend had a Visa card. Otherwise, we couldn't even check in.
