Question

I am going to visit my former exchange student in China.  I have my plane ticket, but I am going to be staying with the family and when we go to other locations the family will be paying for my expenses as indicated in their invitation letter.  Will the Chinese embassy question my accommodations if I don't have anything with hotel reservations?

Hi, Ashley, the embassy will not question you accomodations as long as you can provide the invitation letter, so don't worry about it. However, you need to register at a local police station within 24 hours after your arrival. If the family your are staying with are Chinese, they should accompany you to go there and present their household registration book and ID card.
