About:Chinese Embassy in Malaysia

Is 22 Dec 2014 a public holiday at Chinese Embassy KL?

I am travelling to Shanghai on 26 Dec 2014? I am working in Singapore but applying from there will take a longer time since I am a Malaysian. If I go to KL, how soon can I get the visa and how much to pay?

Hi, Lavender, if you want to apply it in Malaysia, you should go to the CVASC in KL or Kuching, instead of the embassy. The CVASC opens on December 22, however, there is a one-day holiday on December 25. So you have to apply for the express service, which only takes two workdays and charges 310 MYR.

Thanks Harbor. I am in KL to apply. It costs RM310 like what you said. This is way too expensive for a few days visit to Shanghai.

I went to Melbourne this year and I could just do an online application. and it costs only RM50.00 or less. For a Chinese one, I have to travel to KL (RM75.00), visa RM310.00, transport in KL RM100, hotel RM150.00, other expenses RM100.00. This side expenses just for a visit to China don't seem so worthwhile. I could have travelled to Thailand and enjoyed the beach for this amount.
