About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

I'm traveling from US to Shanghai. My spouse (American) is working in China and I'd like to visit.

The application request hotel reservations with my name on them, is this true or can I just fall onto his reservations? He's staying for 3 months and I'm just visiting for 3 weeks. Will they just assume I'm staying in his room if I submit his reservations?

If you only provide his hotel bookings, the staff will not assume that you will live in his hotel. In my opinion, you are suggested to ask your spouse to provide you an invitation letter. So you can use his invitation letter to make your application and no hotel or flights bookings are needed. You can try to apply using this method.
