About:China Private Visit Visa

I will apply for the S1 visa. Do I have to get my marriage license notarized?

I think it's clear from your information that I do not, but an administrative assistant in my husband's company is telling us that we have to go to the US consulate and get our marriage license notarized. Thank you for your help.

The assistant is right, you have to get your marriage certificate notarized then get it attested by the Chinese consulate in US.

Thank you for your reply. It's very helpful. What do I do if I'm currently in China? Can I get the notarized marriage certificate attested by the Chinese government here in China instead of in the US?

Based on my information, no Chinese government can do it within China. In my opinion, you are suggested to consult the USA Embassy in China for get an exact information. They will handle many cases like you every year.
