M Visa suitable for working long term in China but not employed by Chinese company?

Hi,

I'm an Australian working as a buyer. My employer wish to send me to China to be close to the suppliers and monitor their progress. My employer is an Australian company with no establishment in China. I will be paid here in Australia by my employer but would need to live in China fir over a year. In this case, can I use a M type or would have to apply working Z? Thank you.

You will not purchase something from your supplier in China? If you will not buy, you can consider to apply for a multiple enty F type for your staying in China. The F type is enough for your situation. Remember to ask your supplier to issue you an invitation letter, so that you are able to apply for the F type.

Hi Earl, thank you for your advice. I will most like draft up prurchasing contracts should I find a suitable supplier. Of course the contract will be executed by the legal representative in Australia and the goods purchased will be intended for australia. Will this change my circumstance?

If you will go to the contract, the M type you mentioned is the most suitable type.
