Can i take 2 bottles of wine in my checked luggage from Australia to England?

I am taking a gift over to relatives in England of 2 bottles of Australian wine. I wasn't sure of the ruling & if this is ok to have in my checked luggage. Or is this something I can take in my carry on if it wasn't purchased in the airport?

Lauren, you need to put them in your checked luggage. It's ok to bring two bottles. According to China customs, passengers are allowed to take 1.5 L liquor.
