About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I travel from Mongolia to Taiwan and make a stop in China with the 72 visa free?

It depends on which airport you want to layover. Only a few airports in China is available for the 72-hour free transit. If you transit in Guangzhou, Shanghai or Beijing or some other certain airports, you are able to have that stopover in China under the 72-hour free transit.
