About:China Family Reunion Visa

Study on the Q2 visa?

I've been in China for about a month now on a Q2 visiting family, but I also plan to Study in Shanghai for a month, and then stay with family for another month after that before heading home. Am i able to study on my Q2 type? Or do I have apply for a X-type? My admission letter says i should have a X1/X2 type or else i am liable for any possible consequences. What are these possible consequences?

The school won't allow you to study without an X type, but if this is like a training center such as EF for example than you are free to do as you please when it comes to a walk in training centers, but a University or college and or high school would require you to have a X type.

According to the laws, studying with a Q2 is illegal.

Probably, the local PSB will fine some money and let you stop the courses. If you plan to study in a school, you are suggested to have a related X1 or X2 to avoid troubles. After you finish study, you can try to change your Q2 type again.
