Hey, both train and flight need a transfer in Urumqi. If by train, you can take train from Xian to Urumqi South. The fastest train takes 26.5 hours to reach, and the ticket price is CNY767.5 for soft sleeper, and CNY480.5 for hard sleeper. After arrival, take train from there to your destination. It would takes about 25 hours to reach. The ticket price would be CNY527.5 for soft sleeper, and CNY333.5 for hard sleeper.If by plane, you can first fly from Xian Xianyang airport to Urumqi, and then fly from there to reach. It would take about 6 hours by air.
