About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I need any transit visa or am I eligible for 72 hrs free transit in Shanghai?

Hi,
I am going visit South Korea on Jan 2015. I am an Indian citizen. While returning back to India, there is airport change in Shanghai. i.e. Seoul (Incheon) to Shanghai (Pu Dong) and then Shanghai (Hongqiao) to Kunming.

Avihek, you are not eligible for 72 hours free transit. However, if your total stay in China is less than 24 hours, you needn't apply for a transit G. Instead, you just need to apply for a stay permit when you arrive at Pudong Airport. If your stay in China is more than 24 hours, you should apply for a transit G type in advance.

You need to apply for a G type by providing your valid passport and a photocopy of its data page, a completed application form affixed with your recently taken color photo, and air ticket to the next desitination region or country.

Thank you for information. Just want to get confirmation on my case.

I will reach at Shanghai (Pu Dong - PVG) airport around 10:00 hrs from Seoul and I will have flight to India from Shanghai (Hongqiao - SHA) airport at 16:10 hrs on same day.

So there is around 5-6 hrs time difference and the airports are getting changed. So do I need apply for a transit G or stay permit. Please confirm once. Thank you.
