Transit Visa from Canada to Fiji through China

I am a Fijian passport holder with permanent residence status in Canada. My wife and I are planning a trip from Canada to Fiji and we have a layover in China. Do I need a transit G type?

How long is your transit?
If the total transfering time is less than 24 hours, the Transit G type is not required. If it is over 24 hours, you need to apply one in advance.
