About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Switzerland- Shanghai-Hong Kong-Shanghai-Switzerland

My friend is visiting me in Shanghai. He has only a Visa for Shanghai. Can he enjoys the 72 hours Visa Transit, if we want to go to Hong Kong and after coming back to Shanghai he flys home one day after?

You mean he will fly to Shanghai for one day from HK for one day and then he will go back to Switzerland?
If so, he can enjoy the 72-hour free transit in Shanghai. Remember to inform the airline that he want to enjoy this policy when boarding.
