German citizen applying for business visa in Chinese embassy in Japan

Hello,

I am a German citizen who wants to first study in China and then work there for approx. 3 months. As I first want to study in China, I need a studying type, which I will apply for in Germany. After my studies, I want to travel around a bit (including Japan) and apply there for the needed business type in the Chinese embassy in Tokio. Is this possible as a German citizen or do I have to fly home to Germany and apply there? How does this procedure work?

Thanks in advance!
Best regards from Germany

You are able to have a try to apply in Japan in person. For applying in Japan, you need to go to the embassy/consulate in person with your valid passport, an application form, a recent taken photo, your proof of legal status in Japan and an invitation letter from China. After you submit the documents, you need to wait around 4 working days to get your business type.
