Lighting at Stadium and Water cube in Beijing?

I heard that the stadium and water cube will have a beautiful light every night.
I don't wanna buy the ticket for visiting inside the stadium, just wanna take some photos at the park outside.

I have my free time only after 8:00 PM.
Could anyone tell me whether the light is opened all night?
If not. please advise me what time is the light close?
