Hong Kong airport express card - 3 days validity

How is the 3-day validity calculated? Midnight to midnight or 72 hours after first usage?

The AE Travel Pass can be used for AE train trips and 3 days unlimted travel on MTR. The 72h starts to be counted after the first use on MTR, and you can use it on AE whenever you want within its validity, 180 days.
