About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

China Z visa

I am Canadian but I have a Chinese Work Z currently but will be leaving the country before my year is up to go travelling in south east Asia for two months. I have a flight back to Beijing and then the next day from Beijing to Canada. Can I use the 72 hour free transit to leave the airport to grab my luggage and return the next day? Will I have any trouble if my Work Z is not cancelled before I leave? Thank you

It will not make troubles if your work Z is not cancelled. If it is still in validity, you can easily use your valid Work Z or 72-hour free transit to grab your luggage. If it expires, you can just apply to enjoy the 72-hour free transit to enter the airport.

Thank you for the quick response, but how will I know if my employer cancels my work Z? Can they do it without having my passport?

Did not have any problem coming back to China with my Work Z type as it was still valid and we did not need a 72 hour free transit. Just for anyone in the same predicament in the future.
