Letter of Introduction

I am travelling to China in January 2015 with a business partner to investigate product supply opportunities. Do we need to have a letter of introduction or an invitation letter from a Chinese supplier as part of our visa application process???

Since you go to China for investigation, a F type is suggested to apply. For applying the F, an invitation letter is needed. So you had better to prepare one if you have a partner in China.
