About:Bao'en Temple Pagoda

Spouse Visa to Z type

I have a Z type but my wife has been living in here with a spouse one. My wife has now been offered a job is there a way that she can get a Z type *without* leaving China? We are both US citizens. My wife got a job at the same school as me. Thank you for any information.

J, I am afraid that your wife has no other choice but exiting China and applying for the Z type in the USA. According to my knowledge, it's impossible to change the types without leaving China.

Can she go to Hong Kong and apply there?

J, the safest way is to apply in the USA. According to the related laws, your wife can't apply there if she doesn't have HK resident status. However, some agencies claim that they can do that. Perhaps, you might contact some agencies and ask them to help you deal with this. The cost is around CNY 6000 to 7000.
