About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72-hours transit visa/ use of valid visa on old passport.

I am from Canada and presently outside Canada and I have Chinese double entry type validity until Jan, 2015 on my old passport( old passport valid until Feb 15, 2015 but now I have new passport and old both). I would like to know if i can visit China using my visa on my old passport along with my new passport on my way back to Canada. Also like to know if I can use 72-transit on arrival at the Beijing airport and depart from Beijing with in 72 hours.

Thanks
Saje

You can take both of your old and new passport to visit China. If you fly to Beijing from one country and then leave Beijing for another different country, you can enjoy the 72-hour free transit in the Beijing airport.

Thanks for your reply to my question. I am not clear yet about the first part of your answer if I can stay longer than 72 hours using my valid visa on old passport. I would appreciate if i can know about it so that I can plan my trip. Thanks

I mean you need to take both the old and the new passport when you visit China.
You can stay longer than 72 hours by using your valid one on your old passport.
