hi, i plan to arrive in pingyao at noonleave the following day morning - hence 1.

Is this too much time to spend there? I wish to see the Qiao Jia Compound, as well as watch the show in the night.  Should I try to squeeze everything to 1 day in PY instead?  Many thanks for your advice.

I don't think 1.5 days are too much for PY trip. Actually, it deserves so long time. You can arrive at the city in an afternoon to have a general visit of the ancient town. After that, go and see the show. On the next day, you can go to the Qiao's Compound in the morning and then see more of the old town. Then leave. I went there last month and visited two compounds. Personally, the Wang's Compound is better ahd has more to see than Qiao's.
