train trip from vietnam to russia via beijing.

Hello,I am French and my partner German.We are planning to take a train from Vietnam to Russian with a stop over of fews days in Beijing.I saw that Hanoi doesn't deliver Chinese VISA so we wish to get it from Cambodia.Is it possible ?Do I have to book the train first to prove my itinerary ? It is possible to have a try to apply in Cambodia. You need to apply in person or apply through a tour agency. Mail application is not accepted. The arrving and leaving train tickets are needed for applications, so you need to book in advance.
